Adam
Whitlock is an engineer by training and by trade, but has been a long-time
student of the spiritual traditions of the East.
His investigations into spirituality began some 23 years ago with a study
of Taoism and Buddhism.
Subsequently, he was introduced to the teachings of Sri Aurobindo, a 20th
Century Indian mystic and yogi, while attending Flight School as an officer in
the U.S. Marine Corps.
This took his understanding of the Eastern spiritual tradition to a new
plane and set the course for the rest of his life.
Adam
has taught two seminars in the past few years.
The first, “The Eastern Spiritual Tradition”, was an exploration of
Taoism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and the Yogas through their literature, artwork,
poetry, and music.
“Kickin’ It Up a Notch!” provided Adam with an opportunity to share
some of the deeper spiritual truths revealed through the religious symbols of
the East, insights capable of enriching the spiritual practice of students of
any faith.
A
vegetarian for many years, Adam still found raw food a breath of fresh
air! His studies of the subject, along with training in Ayurveda, the
5,000-yr-old Indian "Science of Life", has led to a very thorough
understanding of the interactions between our diet, our health, and our
spiritual growth. He loves complementing Linda's "how" classes
with a touch of "why" information, and hopes to meet you soon!
